♥ecartz
Dreamweaver has trouble understanding what PHP code blocks do, so you can't really edit pages with PHP blocks in the GUI. That said, it does have a reasonably good code editor with syntax highlighting. It also handles FTP and code check in and check out. Just don't expect to able to edit PHP pages the same way you would straight HTML. Hth, Matt Always back up before making changes.
Chance
What matt said. I use dreamweaver all day, but its not for visualy editing php. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. mpiscopo
I use Dreamweaver for editing code, mostly because it was what I had been using for my static pages. Is there a GUI editor someone can recommend? Or does it not exist?
♥ecartz
The closest thing to a GUI editor is to install Apache/MySQL/PHP on your workstation and view pages from there. Note: Dreamweaver can be configured to use a local, network, or FTP file space to save files. Hth, Matt Always back up before making changes. wizardsandwars
dreamweaver MX 2004 works well with osCommerce and editing PHP 4-5 code. Editing the code directly, yes. But not with the GUI, which is what the question was about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
