Adding New Fields to Advanced Search

Lalla

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I tried to search for info on this... I really did :( .... but the board would throw back errors and not let me see all of the millions of returns it came back with...most of which have nothing to do with the search words we type in anyway <_<

I am really hoping that our Search portions of our sites work better then this one!!

Anyway, I added 6 new fields to my site and would like to have one of them atleast added to the advanced search feaure. I tried to follow the instructions outlined in the latest instructions for the Add New Product Field Contribution, but messed up somewhere. Can someone please help me clean up my mess?

I want it to search the Author's field which is last name, first name.

Let me know if I should post any of the files I edited (aka screwed up) here and which one.

Thanks!

Lalla

what is the search function doing now? have you gone over it step by step? and for the search function, are the instructions just that or are they also compiled in a program?

Is kinda hard to explain which is why I was hoping that those that read this could go to the site and see how the field shows up.

Yes, I always do before posting to this board...believe me, to post is my last resort

It a text file. They are added to the bottom of the EP instructions.

Thanks,

Lalla
