jstvnson
Some of our customers are using the AOL Browser...(I know...I know) and they are having problems with the online shopping. Any suggestions or fixes out there? Thanks, John

kn1ght
You can't actually tell a customer that it's their browser's fault. Anyway, did you asked what kinda problem he/she have?
jstvnson
Actually I did. We have had calls from people that say that they can not get into the shopping cart, send their credit card information, etc. and ask me (since I am the e-commerce service manager) why it will not work for them. The first question I ask them is, 'Are you using the AOL browser?' 99% of the time their answer is 'yes'. I have even walked them through it over the phone having them use IE or Netscape and it works for them there (I have tested it in Opera, Netscape, IE and Mozilla and works great in all). If I put a clause on the introduction page asking them not to use the AOL browser, most of not all of them will ignore it. And I am not sure if there is a JavaScript code to check for the AOL browser. If there is, then I could redirect the AOL users and inform them of the situation. Any tips out there? stonejunkie
Yes! I've got this problem too. I'd love to have a solution other than telling potential customers to get a real ISP and browser... :)
jstvnson
Yep Stonejunkie, I am now adding a live help desk so I can answer that problem. But there is one kink in it.....IT IS WRITTEN IN PHP!!! And I think that is where AOL Browser is having the problem. IF ANYBODY out there knows what AOL Browser Identifies itself as...PLEASE post it here...so I can check for it and redirect the users. Thank YOU!!!! user99999999
If you have Check IP Address = True then AOL users will probably get problems because the proxy server can change IP for each page request.
