Installation - Many Problems...

Hello

I'm trying to build my online store but I have so many problems, easy to solve, but I can?t find the solution. Can u help me?.

1) I receive the message that I need a 'tmp' directory to store my customers sessions. (My Installation is in Spanish)

I?m following this step:

Create the dir /admin/backups and set the permissions to 777

I have been created the dir '/admin/backups', but the error always stays there, I have been created the dir '/admin/tmp', but it?s the same

How can I solve this problem?.

2) What?s this step?:

You need to .htaccess your /admin directory so that it is password protected. You can use the password manager in your server admin area like cpanel.

Can u explain me? (like a tutorial for dummies ;) )

It means, CHMOD or something???

3) How can I feel completely sure that all the installation of oscommerce, and, all my store is secure to work?. Can I do something to see that?.

4) How can I do a backup of my customers registration ?. For example, if I change the store to another webhosting.

Thanks for read me and sorry 4 my English :)

my host did it all automatically through fantastico which seems to install extra programes, but looking under password protect directories in my web hosting control panel i can see a lock next to both /catalog/admin and /catalog/download so play around with your control panel and see where it is you can protect directories.

if you enter yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com/admin there will be a message at the top in pink if it's not protected, i only know because i clicked on someones link once and that came up.

si buscas en este forum para .htaccess supone que encuentres algun solucion porque casi toda la gente aqui ha protegido los directorios, entonces unas personas han preguntado las mismas preguntas.
