osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Authorize.net isn't seeing any transaction.

We have set up osCommerce at http://www.fireplacesandgaslogs.com/shop and are trying to set up authorize.net as our gateway.

We seemingly have everything set up correctly. We ran a "production" transaction and the order went through, as far as telling us as the customer that it was successful. We can even view the order in our osCommerce admin area. However, authorize.net shows nothing. After checking our authorize.net admin area, we called them and they said that no transactions had gone through, and were told that the problem is on our end with our shopping cart system.

I've searched the community board and haven't found anything similar to this, as we are receiving no visible error messages. osCommerce is behaving like everything is fine.

Can anyone point us in the right direction?

Secondly, just for curiosity sake, how do we know what "method" we are using, referring to SIM or AIM, as I keep reading about this?

Now our site is behaving as if it has no security certificate. We can't login to an account, nor attempt to checkout for a purchase. Has anyone ran into this?

Something to note: we were even successful tonight in placing a real order with no transaction key entered into the Authorize.net payment module. We received no error messages of any kind.

Please, someone help!

BTW...THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE NEEDED TO BE RESET FOR SOME REASON BY OUR HOSTING SERVICE, SO THAT'S TAKEN CARE OF. :)

take a look at all the info you are sending authorize.net, as a while back they made it necessary for people to also send the state info in with the other info, if you are not sending state info then you wont get much of anything

Again, could someone please tell me where I can locate if I'm sending my State info to Authorize.net, if I'm even sending anything?

I just find it suspicious that I can run a transaction in 'production' mode, with a fake userID and transaction key, and the order goes through with flying colors, with no error messages to the customer. Again, NOTHING is going through to Authorize.net; there are no unsettled transactions.

We're getting very desperate!

I tried Mibble's suggestion in the PhantomAuthorize.net thread, but unfortunately it did not help, as I'm not receiving any error messages. I did try it though, and I thank Mibble for taking the time to try to help.

Has any Authorize.net user ever experienced this problem? Again: I have the Authorize.net payment module in 'production' mode, with the correct userID and trans.key. I can go all the way through a transaction and never receive and error message. The system tells me that my order was a success, as a customer I receive my order email, and as an admin I can see the order in the orders area.

-HOWEVER-

The transaction does NOT go through to Authorize.net. Nothing goes through to them at all. They do not send any reason codes, because nothing goes through. They do not see anything. I've contacted them and I've been told that something is wrong with my cart system.

Testing it further, I can set up a fake userID and trans.key in my payment module in 'production' mode, and I get the same results. The transaction seems to go through without a hitch, no error messages whatsoever, but of course, it's a bogus transaction.

Are there no osCommerce users that have ever had this problem? Am I missing just the simplest item or what?

 THANKS TO THE GRAND MIBBLE FOR EXPOSING THE PROBLEM!!!

All signs pointed to the fact that authorize.net was not receiving any information from the transaction. Mibble wanted me to see the typical error message that a store owner would see from a bad credit card trans. so he took it upon himself to guide me through a fake errored trans. at his store. When I reached the payment page, alarms went off in my head, which led me to discover what I was doing wrong. I had made a most simple error with my payment modules:

In my store admin/modules area, I had both the authorize.net and credit card modules installed, and both of them with an identical sort order of '1'. This was causing the authorize.net module to not be shown.

I went ahead and uninstalled the credit card module (which as a newbie I thought it was necessary if the user didn't want to pay with check/mon.order/paypal), gave it a sort order of 4 which was probably unecessary, but I wanted to play it safe, and left authorize.net with a sort order of 1.

Presto!

Upon checking out, I now have authorize.net as a visible pmnt module for the customer. Before, I wasn't even aware that the customer even saw authorize.net as a module. I thought that the given choice of "credit card" was THE way for the customer to pay with a CC.

Thanks again to Mibble for taking time and helping me out! :)
