Guest
:D Hello, I am going to be purchasing an ssl certificate soon but in the meantime... What file do I edit to prevent the 'Security Alert' box from popping up? As soon as you enter my site and click on a few links the box pops up indiating that certifcate does not match name of site. I have read so many posts and of course the clear solution is to purchase own ssl certificate. However, I came across a site that DOES NOT trigger this 'Security Alert'. If you visit this site you'll see that when you add an item to shopping cart and click on 'Checkout' the url changes to a different one and ssl certificate does not match the site!!! How are they doing this? Site that does not trigger 'Security Alert': http://www.linda-norton-jewelry.com/ My site that DOES trigger security warning as soon as you enter: http://www.childrensusedclothes.com/shop/ Can anyone think of a possible solution? I am using MS2.
Guest
Inez, if you look at the HTTPS links for www.linda-norton-jewelry.com, you can see that the links are actually for another server, most likely their web-hoster. They are using a "shared" SSL certificate. When you click on that link the certificate that is sent to the browser is not for www.linda-norton-jewelry.com, but rather for vs00.tvsecure.com. Some hosting providers will help you set this up on your site (some reconfiguration required, but I think all that you do is change the HTTPS path in /catalog/includes/configure.php and /catalog/admin/includes/configure.php . . .) but the best way is really to get your own certificate, as you've already mentioned. https://vs00.tvsecure.com/~vs00106/shop/acc...2434637f02ea202
