Guest
Okay I am NOT a moron. I swear. I know that there are problably glaringly obvious answers to these problems that I just can't see after almost 2 days of working on this I just have to ask for help! LOL I have it installed, I have few or no errors but there are a few things I have not figured out that I would like to change! 1.) There is "What's New Here?" text on the main page, can not find where to delet or change this space. I am thinking it is a title somehwere since the catagory page says "Catagories" and then there is a "Lets see what we have here" page when you click the catagory. If anyone would tell me where to/how to delete these/edit these I would be greatly appreciative. 2.) When I installed the cart (I am using the CRE loaded version) it asked for the URL of the store, I didn't have the domain pointed yet and so I used the host URL. I would like to change that now, can not figure out how.....any clues? 3.) When I got to edit the mainpage.php with the WYSIWYG editor I get "error file not writable" no matter what the permissions are set at. Now it isn't a huge deal as I don't NEED to use the WYSIWYG editor but it does make life easier on me for quick little changes to the mainpage. Okay I think this is it for now, I am almost done with getting it up, after dealing with agora for a year and a half I am REALLY impressed with oscommerce and how much easier it is to understand and how much better the documentation is! :D much more user friendly! Thank you very much for any help you can give me! My store is at http://www.thecushietushie.com/store
Guest
for finding text, the easiest thing to do is to get a program called 'Windows GREP' which will allow you to search for anything you desire in any file you desire (windows search doesnt work this good) and if you point it to your local osCommerce folder, it will search everything. i recommend you also setup a store locally, for development and then put final product on the net. http://internetmaster.com/installtutorial/index.htm
Guest
Okay I figured out most of my problem on my own, the only thing I need to fix now is the how to switch the URL for the store from the host139 URL to my domain name URL. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! :D
Guest
I think this MIGHT be in configuration.php You might also need to change it in admin/configuration.php - never looked in there so I'm not sure.
Guest
it's in, catalog/ includes / configure.php im not positive, but i think there might be some stuff in admin / includes/configure.php as well. those are two of the files you have to CHMOD before installing. so..that's just a guess . read my signature. BACK UP your files if you try this
