khalass
Dear Member, I have downloaded the oSCommerce Shopping Cart from this website and unzipped it. I have also downloaded the Authenticity Zip file. How do I use this authenticity file??? After unzipping the downloaded zip file I get a folder called oscommerce-2.2ms2 which contains all the files and folders. I am unable to open the following files CHANGELOG, INSTALL, README, FAQ, LICENSE, STANDARD, TODO because the format is not recommended by any of the programs i have. Is this because I have not used the authenticity file. Regards, khalass

khalass
Hi Guys, I have been able to open the README, INSTALL etc file using notepad. I have Apache Tomcat set up on my machine. I usually develope in JSP's. I wanted to know how do I install this shopping cart or how do i get it to work. I also have MySQL database installed on the same machine. From the instructions in the INSTALL file it states: copy the 'catalog' directory to the webroot path of your webserver: cd oscommerce-2.2ms2 cp -R catalog /usr/local/apache/htdocs/ For this example, '/usr/local/apache/htdocs/' is used as the webroot path of the Apache webserver. Do the same for the 'admin' directory but rename the directory to a unique and secret name. This directory does not have to reside inside the catalog directory, though may need to be manually configured. 3. Using your favourite browser, go to the following address: http://[your site]/catalog/install and follow the instructions on the screen. I do not have the /usr/local/apache/htdocs/directory in my Tomcat. Could someone gice me step by step instructions on installing this please.
