Guest
HI :) , I was wondering that if i install occommerce on www.mysite.com this its quite easy to reach the admin section by anyone by simpy going to www.mysite.com/admin :( so I think we must give admin folder a new name so I was looking for a way to do so. Should I rename the folder directly. Please help. Thanks
TerryK
Definitely rename the folder (to something that won't be easily guessed), then change your config.php file to reflect the new directory name. Once you've done that, you should also password-protect the directory using .htaccess. Your tech support should be able to help you with that if you don't know how to do it, or I believe there may be some contributions in the 'features' section. giloth
Yeah being the newbie I am I had trouble with the whole .htaccess/.htpasswd at first too. I found a great tutorial on the internet though that showed me how to do it. http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/ Hope this helps, Josh
