How to Make Admin Secure

Guest

Recommended Posts

HI :) ,

I was wondering that if i install occommerce on www.mysite.com this its quite easy to reach the admin section by anyone by simpy going to www.mysite.com/admin :( so I think we must give admin folder a new name so I was looking for a way to do so. Should I rename the folder directly.

Please help.

Thanks

Definitely rename the folder (to something that won't be easily guessed), then change your config.php file to reflect the new directory name.

Once you've done that, you should also password-protect the directory using .htaccess. Your tech support should be able to help you with that if you don't know how to do it, or I believe there may be some contributions in the 'features' section.

Hi,

thank you all of you, I checked that my hosting firm allows me to use .htacess thicks and they have Cpanel so its autometic kind and I can protect the whole folder with ease.

Thank you all of you once again. Now my research shifts to Templates. lets see what happens. :( I use DW MX 04.

I can't find the config.php file. Just found configuration.php in admin folder. Where is the config.php?
