damon2003
Hi, I have the standard oscommerce install. I want to know what files need to be altered so that I can customise the design of the pages. I have noticed the css file in the includes, is it ok to directly edit this file? Also though, apart from the css stuff, I would like to edit the width of tables and images etc in the pages. are the pages based on a template of some sort. I mean if I allter the template, if it it there, will all pages auomatically change to the same design? thanks
Guest
OK - first you need to click on the help docs link in my sig - this will lead you to all sorts of information about the store and how to use/edit it. Yes, you can edit the css file directly. No there are no templates, but everything is written in modules which are called on each page. So if you alter the header, you only need to alter it in the header file and then it will be altered an all pages. Take some time to explore the structure of the files, then you will know more what you are looking for. It is very unlikely that anything you need to ask has not been answered many times over, so use the search function to help you.
