Egena
Hi, Im currently working on an oscommerce site on my laptop, but unfortunately the IP changes frequently, causing oscommerce to become nonfunctional, as all the links were setup to use the ip i gave in setup, which is different now...so my site's there, its just using the wrong ip's and i dont know where to change the ip that the oscommerce software uses... I hope that made sense  Also, within the next few days, im going to be moving this site to a dedicated server, how do I back it up and transfer it to the server, without having to manually re-enter all the products and configuration? :) Thank you for all help, it is greatly appreciated. Guest
I also have OSCommerce running on my laptop and my IP also changes. Just make your configuration based on the URL of localhost. If you have XP or 2000, localhost will always resolve to your current IP. I hope that this helps.
Egena
Thanks, that kind of helps, now i just need to find how to change that configuration based url, I would like to do it without losing all of what i have right now, i changed it before by going through the install screen and i lost everything. So the question of the day is: How do i change the configuration IP/URL for my server without deleting everything i've got right now?
Guest
You need to change the following in your configure.php file. You will have to change both. There is one in includes and the other is in admin/includes. HTTP_SERVER HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN DB_SERVER Good luck.
