I am going to sell a combination of new and used products on my site. So is there anyway when a someone adds an item to shopping cart it will change the quantity in stock to zero and if they don't buy and remove it from shopping cart the qty goes back to 1. The way it is right now anyone can add an item to cart that has a qty of one but whoever gets to check out first will get it. I am not sure how deep they have to be in the checkout to lock the other people out from buying it.

Normally, when you have the item set to "1", and it is place into a cart, it is immediately unavailable and can't be picked up by anothe shopper. Are you saying that another shopper can pick up the same item and then it becomes a race as to who checks out first??? You could start a stmpede that way - lol. Test it again, I'll be you find that once its in a cart it is defaulted by the inventory tracking to unavailable to other shoppers.

Yeah!!! I just noticed this...was getting close to finishing, so guess I messed something up. I thought maybe it was my cookie or cache in my browser. So I logged in my site as customer, added something to cart with a quantity of 1. Then surfed my site a bit, logged off. Then I cleared all my browser cache and junk. Hit my site again and product was still listed.

Ok I was just looking around my admin and site to see if I could correct this but I think this just how it works. It says in admin under config stock, "Subract stock is set true" and the definitions says "Subtract product in stock by product orders" so I guess it doesn't take it out until the order is done, which works fine on my site but I want it out of stock when in cart...any ideas?
