Jesser
I'm setting up my first osCommece site ever for a friend and her host did not set her up automatically with a secure HTML directory. And they're in no sweet hurry to tell me how to get one started for her ... Can you get along without one? Or can someone tell me if I can set one up for her on my own? Her host has no listing of providing SSL or a Secure HTML directory in its features summary. But why the heck would they use OsCommerce if you couldn't get along without it or set a directory like that up? Argh. Thanks for any help. wvmlt
It's always best to have SSL but if you're going to accept credit cards through paypal or 2checkout, you don't "need" it. Most people feel more comfortable entering info such as name, address, phone number, etc. on a secure server. In fact alot of people won't deal with a site that isn't secure. If the host won't or can't set up ssl, then just switch hosts :D Keith What the hell was I thinkin'?
Guest
So there no need to activate SSL if we are using Paypal? Alright then, THanks.
