UKSwift Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 I have customised OsCommerce to work as a personalised numberplate website. We have hit a very large problem.. At the moment we are trying to import the data given to us from the DVLA, this data contains _every_ UK numberplate that isnt being used. As you can probably imagine this is a hell of alot of data. I have setup spreadsheets to use the popular Easy Populate solution. We are experiencing timeouts, and data not being fully uploaded. Each spreadsheet contains 65000 products and there are a minium of 10 spreadsheet to each mark. I can split the files down to around 10000 lines but this still can take upto 20 minutes at a time to upload. This is simply just too much time to spend on uploading the data. Has anyone got any ideas at all of a quicker way to do this? I will note that we only use one categorie for this and there are no images for hte plates, or any descriptions needed.
