The problem is that a customer may order some items that we are offering free shipping on and others that we are not. In this scenario, I want to send only the weight of the items being charged freight to UPS. I tried setting the weight to zero on free freight items, but UPS gives an error if the total shipping weight is zero. I have added a free freight field in the products table, but I have not been able to figure out how to use this to give free freight. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out exactly how the shipping all works so that I can customize it, but have not been able to. Any help would definitely be appreciated.
