Toggling text fields on item input form

I am fairly new to php and MySQL, and have been looking for a method to hide (remove or whatever) some of the input areas before I start adding proucts. I thought that a radio button option on a per field basis would be great. On my site, I have to scroll past several fields that are not used (Manufacturer, Model, Weight) and it would be great just to not see them. While this is not a major inconvience, it does get to be a hassle when inputting the stores inventory. I have installed a couple of mods and couldn't believe how great they worked. So I thought that this may be food for thought. Thanks for giving me a forum to express thoughts!
