Transfer customer accounts and past sales???

Hi,

I tried searching for this topic to no avail. Also, i hope I am post ing the right section of this forum.

I have my old store running in my /catalog folder using OSC MS1. I have just installed my new store under /shop directory.

Is it possible in any way to transfer my customer accounts along with their past sales to from my MS1 store to my new MS2 store??

I know it probably involves some mysql work, but I really don't know too much about MySQL enough to take a chance to explore and experiment.

I am hoping someone can shed some light and let me know if it is possible an how it must be done. ANy specific instructions would be great. I am not completely MySQL illiterate but I am definitely a novice.

Thanks in advance.

PS. Let me give a little hint of how much of a novice I am. I got the following response to my question on another forum and I do not understand it pretty much at all...

OSC (all versions) have a perl script called mysqldiff that can compare 2 mysql dumpfiles or direct databases and create a MySQL query with the required "alter" statements.

(run this "query" file on a copy of the OLD data to upgrade it to the NEW format).

First of all Install the PERL script on a server/computer that has perl installed (even local - it does work on Windows!) - READ the script file in a TEXT editor for useage....

Backup your OLD DB - install the new data base in a NEW database - drop the default products/categories/customers....etc.... (optionaly do a MySQL dump of both)

Run the script on the 2-DB (or if optioninally on the MySQL dump files) - Load your OLD DB into a 3rd DB - run the diff file as a query on the 3rd database
