cant see catalog

i tried looking for the past topics about this but i was unfortunate.

installed oscommerce sucessfully and im able to access the admin control panel so i guess my database works fine (or does it?) but when i click on the online catalog or visit http://localhost/catalog it simply says "Unable to connect to database server!"

so i triple check my catalog/includes/configure.php and catalog/admin/includes/configure.php.

ok it works fine now.. i reinstalled everything.. and not copy the configure.php i found at extras/win32 to catalog/includes/local/

i guess thats whats caused the problem
