New installation problems

Hello,

I have installed many of these carts and they always went smoothly, however, for some reason after i do the install and test the cart, whatever I add to the cart first will not remove from the cart. Also, when I try to remove items it sometimes automatically adds items that are totally out of the blue, and these won't remove. I have installed this type of cart several times on this server, so I don't think there is any server problem. I have also installed this version (milestone 2) on a different server and it worked ok.

The other problem that I have is that when I try to add a product attribute it chops off the first 4 letters of whatever I name it. I even tried going directly to the table with phpmyadmin and edit the name, but it still chops off the first 4 letters. I have dropped the entire database and reinstalled the tables and info, but I still get the same problem.

This is really confusing, and i think that proably these are unrelated problems.

Thanks

PS. This is the second time I installed this. I had the cart problem above and wiped out everything, including the files and reinstalled the whole thing, but I still have the same problems.

I deleted the "hardware" category and it's products from the sample data and it seems to have fixed the cart problem. Doesn't make sense to me. However the attributes section still chops of the first 4 letter from the name of the product options. I have tried long and short names, if I put a name in that's less than 4 letters the name shows up blank.

:D I found the answer to my problem after two days of screwing around. I updated my PHP from PHP 4.2.3 to 4.3.4 That fixed both problems, the cart not updating properly and the program chopping off the first 4 characters. :D
