PROBLEMS WITH AUTHNET - "FIRST FOUR DIGITS"

Recommended Posts

Hi People,

OSCommerce seems to have a problem communicating with AuthorizeNet. When 'checkout_confirmation.php' is called from AuthorizeNet (where I DO have an account set up, and have been writing AuthNet AIM scripts for some time), OSCommerce gives me the error:

"Credit Card Error!

The first four digits of the number entered are: <br>If that number is correct, we do not accept that type of credit card.<br>If it is wrong, please try again."

OSCommerce is in "Production Mode", not test mode. I have also toggled AuthorizeNet's Test mode on and off. I have tried real CC numbers and the test numbers supplied by AuthNet.

I don't know what else to try short of pulling OSCOmmerce's innerds apart.

Anyone have anything else I can try to get AuthNet to authenticate credit cards from OSCommerce?

Please help!!! Thanks!

some people this past week have had numerous problems with authorizenet, as they had done some setting change there. could also be the server you are on.

authorize.net's ADC is still working fine.

They recently made some changes to the AIM though.

Thanks Wizards,

Do you suppose these changes are responsible for the aforementioned problem?

Have others reported the same problem?

Is there an OSCommerce contact at AuthNet?

Thanks again,

I'm not sure, to be honest, because I've never used the AIM method. It's always seemed to be alot more complicated than it needed to be.

I know that they were phasing out one of the methods, not sure if this is it. You might try asking Authorize.net's live help if they are still supporting AIM, although I think they might have just closed for the day.

Duh - it occurs to me that OSCommerce does not use AIM. I'm just using the basic AuthNet module which comes with OSCommerce. And it's not working.

I keep getting the stupid "The first four digits of the number entered are: <br>If that number is correct, we do n"

Arrghh!!

I did chat with AuthNet support, and they say they are not having any particular issues....

I can't escape the suspicion that OSCommerce is submitting a test credit card number, even though checkout_confirmation.php shows the real card number.

Can someone please tell me exactly which .PHP file contains the code block which echoes the:

"Credit Card Error!

The first four digits of the number entered are: <br>If that number is correct, we do not accept that type of credit card.<br>If it is wrong, please try again."

Thanks! Looks like I have to start on those innerds,
