Mental table rates

Hi, I have searched this forum for 6 hours today and cannot find an answer. No matter what i do, my shipping will not work properly. If I put a flat rate of $5 - when I put ANYTHING in the cart - my shipping cost is $3.89 ? Obviously, this is a percentage of the flat rate - but WHY is it doing this?

My maximum weight section is set at 5000000000000 and the tare and % are set at 0.

If I try to use table rates (see my other post) - same thing happens, it calculates a percentage of what I want to charge. Is this a bug?

Please help, this is very urgent as I cannot implement my shop.

thanks

Steve

It looks like either it is converting the shipping price to a different currency or you have a misconfigured tax setup.

If you PM me a link to your store and admin I will be able to advise better

Hi Sparky,

thanks for that. Well, I can't give you access as it is locally behind our firewall (as mentioned, cannot go live till this is sorted). I think you are on the right track. I deleted the other two currencies that i had (USD and EURO) leaving just the AUD. This stopped the freight amount reducing, BUT,,, now I get a 0 in the freight amount - no matter what I do (whether i use table rate or flat rate).

All I want is anything up to 500 grams = $4.30 and anything then up to 3 Kilograms = $7.30. So my table rate is: 500:4.30,3000:7.90 (I have also tried .5:4.30.3:7.90)

Where else should I look please?

regards and thanks heaps

Steve
