Sorry, but I really don't like it very much at all....the black and white looks out of date rather than retro. There are big scary text chunks...it all looks very unprofessional.

Sorry. I hope I haven't upset you, but that's my opinion as a webbie!

Now that I have seen them both, it's more than a few ideas there man. Be careful being that close to someone big....never know. See the 17 year old Microsoft is after for his domain...hahaha. Kids name is Mike Rowe so he bought a domain for his web design site called mikerowesoft.....and well big Bill didn't like it and wants his domain. Of course microsoft being the kind generous company they are offered him 10 bucks for it!

The Wiki Docs: Read them, live them and be thankful for them!

i think that the black and white colour scheme isn't very retro so why not use the suggestion from tjreynolds in tips and tricks

Step 1: Find an Image you like (that relates to your site)

Open Image in Photoshop:

Run this filter:

Filter | Pixelate | Mosaic

Adjust cell size.

Wala. Your palette for your new site is ready!

if the colour scheme comes from any famous hip hop album cover you will end up with a site which subtely reminds a user of the album and thereby creating an instant hip hop feel.
