vintageland
Hi, everything in the installation process went fine until step 7 when I got this error: CODE Warning: fopen(/home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 259 Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 260 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 261 The configuration was successful! Then when I go to http://www.vintageland.com/catalog I get this error: Warning: main(includes/languages/.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 285 Warning: main(includes/languages/.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 285 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/vintag5/public_html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 285 I have been in touch with someone who I might pay for professional installation and he has been helping me. I kind of want to be able to install it myself and full around with the program myself to see if it is actually what I'm looking for before I pay someone from custom installation. This is what he stated was my problem: Well, somehow it seems (After looking at your website) that you do not have a default language. How the hell you managed that is well beyond me. The error is pretty straight-forward. The problem is in the application_top.php file on line 285. I guess I should ask ? Did you install the milestone release or the development CVS version? I looked at three versions of application_top.php and none of the ones I have a reference to languages anywhere near line 285. I installed the milestone release. Can anyone point me in the right direction in order to fix these problems? Thanks a bunch. -matt http://www.vintageland.com

Sometimes it's best just to start over, especially early on if you haven't done any tinkering with the code.

Guest
it is most likely the iis portion is not setup correctly, i use xp with apache and php as a development system locally prior to going to the net with my test system and then going live for anything i do for customers
haymish
finally found how to fix this issue - if you right click on your "publish" folder in c:\inetpub\wwwroot" (or wherever it is) and go to "properties" then enable web sharing this fixes the issue.
