Anyone else getting this error with ms2? I only get it sometimes and I can delete and make the same account with same information and sometimes it will come up and sometimes wont..

Warning: htmlspecialchars() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in mybaseurl/myshop.com/htdocs/catalog/includes/functions/general.php on line 42

I get this when I make an account(sometimes) and then add a product to that account then view my cart. I have looked at the posts about this from other folks but none of the "fixes" seem to do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

have you modified any of the accounts via phpmyadmin? i have seen this before, when the customer numbers, etc did not match in tables when is the last backup you have that worked? ummm, you do have a backup, dont you?

Hi Mibble, thanks for the quick reply. Yes I have a backup of my stuff.. but I have gotten this off of a default install as well. (figured it might be something messed up in my tables) but would think a default install would be alright. What customer numbers are you refering too and what should they be matching with? If I knew more what columns and tables were at issue i might be able to take a lookie. Thanks again for the help.

the ones i found troubles with were in the customer info address book, etc. . . .

probably best to restore and then go slow, see what goes on

I looked around in the database stuff and I could not see anywhere that anything was double listed or conflicting with other toubles. I just made an account three times in a row with exactly the same information each time. Twice it came up with the error and once did not. Im adding the same product to my cart, the same address, the same account name, same e-mail.. everything. I dont see why it would do it one moment and not do it the next.

I'm having this same problem...are your users that ARE having this problem in California? All of my california residents are having this problem....did you ever find a fix?

My customers are all over, not just CA that are having this issue. What I did was simply turn off the shipping estimate option in the admin. This is where the error was showing up anyway so that removed the estimate and error. Hope this helps.

I figured out my issue... I deleted the countries from the database lol , I restored the database and its not doing it anymore, I'm an idiot, check my signature;)

Glad you fixed your issue!

Have a great night,

Christina

I have this problem too - the error message appears where the customer's address should be in the shipincart module (only started since I installed that, but might be coincidence). Sometimes it happens, sometimes not ... I can create several new 'customers' and some get the error, some don't. Only happens when logged in.
