'Lost' product attributes

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I seem to have 'lost' my ability to insert a product into the attributes section. All I'm using at the moment is S-M-L-XL for a menswear website.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

You'll need to add the new product as a normal product in the products section.

AFTER the product has been added to your store then with the attributes window you'll be able to "select" from the product drop down list the product that you wish to add attributes to.

Hi Tom,

The product has been fully added with picture description etc. The uploads were all successful, but I now am unable to add attributes. I had no problem before, just wonder whether a bit of tinkering around has caused a problem.

You realize that you'll need to add new s,m,l,xl attributes for each product?

This is quite cumbersome and there is a product attributes contribution that makes life a bit easier.

I'm assuming that your not getting any database error messages or the like and that it is just a cockpit error on your part until you get used to attributes.

It's difficult to debug remotely.

Hi Tom,

As I said, it worked OK before. I even fiddled about by creatng new product options and values, but these had no effect so I've deleted them safely.

I'm a bit stumped.

Ok,

You now have said you can add products with no problem and they show up in the drop down list in the PA window.

You have said you can add new attributes in the PA window.

ALL the pieces are here to make it work.

First select the product in the PA window.

Second add/create the new attributes s,m.l.xl for the selected product.

If that doesn't work then PM me with access to your admin page and I'll look at it.
