Hey all,

I am about to attempt to setup a store for a client using OSCommerce. He uses Paypal. So do I need to have him turn on IPN and which Contribution should I use to make Paypal work? And are there any flaws left, or does it actually work?

Thanks,

Shannon

all I can tell you is install that contribution and he'll have to enable IPN in his paypal account. if you need any specific help, just ask. you can shoot me an email with the email link below if you want/need to.

as for other contributions, I have some experience you can see by visiting my website below.

I won't list what I've installed here but I will say I have 18 contributions in all working so far with about 6 more on the way.

I am just wondering, In-odering to shop using paypal.com

do the customer need to create a user account with paypal? is there way that they can skip the user account creating process and buy directly buy just entering credit card information like 2checkout.com?

What is or are the difference between PayPal IPN and PayPal_Shopping_Cart? Which one is better?

The PayPal Shopping Cart Contribution is just an older version of the PayPal IPN. The link I posted is the newest version so far and as far as I can tell, the cleanest to install and most functional.

PayPal is entirely member-based. With the latest (and I'm sure with others as well) IPN Contribution installed and enabled, most of the information is filled in for the customer when they are prompted to create an account on the PayPal page. They can then opt to sign in if they already have an account.
