Romey-Rome
Can OSC be configured with 2checkout so that it doesn't take you to 2checkout.com and then back to your site when purchasing? Thanks Roman
Guest
I am also interested in this. This is very "tacky" and is thought to be unsafe by customers. A more condensed checkout page would be appreciated. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
varnco
I used 2checkout, and you can add header and footer HTML files to the 2checkout site, so it "looks" like it is part of your own site. All I did was translate my header and footer from my website into HTML that looks like my web site, added it to the 2checkout web site, and voila, it looks just like my os website. I excluded the left menu items, but kept my logo, colors, frames, etc the same.
wizardsandwars
Additionally, yes, if you have your own SSL, you can collect the cc info on your site, and send it to 2checkout, to be processed, just like a real gateway. In fact, I think that the stock 2ckeckout osc mod comes set up like this. That being said, I wouldn't advise using checkout. Why would you pay twice as much to process your cards, and get your money 2 weeks later? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help. varnco
2checkout is good if you have a low volume of orders, which I do right now, but it is quickly ramping up, to the point where It makes more sense to have my own merchant account and pay the monthly garbage fees (which I understnad they need, to make $$). 1st quarter of 04, I'll probably get my own merchant account.... speed2
Some one please advise me how to get my own "own merchant account" I am based in Canada Thanks
Romey-Rome
Thanks for the info. 2checkout for me is a temp solution to see how things go. I don't want to be paying for nothing with a merchant account if I'm not selling. I'll see how sales go first.
Romey-Rome
One more thing, I have the user tracking contrib. installed, and I see a lot of people go all the way to confirmation and never check out. I don't think people like being pulled away from the site to make a payment...It just seems fishy, even to me.
tep
What I don't particularly like is the number of clicks customers have to click just to complete a damn order. I think they have to click some 4-5 buttons for an order.
philooo
2checkout is offering different 'passback parameter' or 'RETURN PAGES' Woudl this allow the 2checkout information to go to them and get back directly into OSC without having to go to their URL ? so that the check out process could be done without taking the customer away form OCS process ? I have no clue how to use the 2checkout passback parameters ? Thanks for helping me out, it seems this subject is interesting lots of people. Philippe.
