bluedevil920
My first question is about moving my site from my localhost IIS server to an online Apache server. I have been editing my site offline and then I would like to upload it. I assume this is possible and OK, but what do I need to do to move it over to the other server. I assume you can't just copy the files onto the server, can anyone tell me what files I need to modify and what else I need to do? Also, I initially set the site of for no SSL...can I easily change it to be SSL and what do I need to do that? Last, what do I need to do to secure my site? I assume I need to lock down the admin folder....what else?
Guest
you need to be able to ftp to your site, and you will need to modify your configure.php files to point to the proper paths, your host can tell you what your actual path is. ssl can be enabled by setting to true and putting the https links in your configure.php
charles
Locking down admin can be tricky. I just finished wrestling with it. Get catalog up and running first so you know what the pathnames are. Then do admin. If you have problems with not getting the padlock in admin, see my post. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=277152 Good luck, Charles We stand in ignorance only for questions not asked.
