photostudio
I am working on a site for the sale of photographs and regrettfully need to address a copyright infringment problem. Not being a guru code cutter like many of you, could anybody please help me with how I could disable the right-click menu on the Click to Enlarge window only. Please accept my humble gratitude! Guest
This will not protect your images - simply saving the small image will save the full image on a standard osCommerce installation.... Javascript can be disabled in the client browser to get around disable right click. You need to install a contribution to handle your images - I use the Sm, Med and Lg Images contribution, with none of these three images being your actual product - you must set up your full product image as downloadable - no access until it is purchased. Guest
There are posts about how to do this; however, this is of limited utility as it can be bypassed. For example, in IE6, go to File > Save As and save the page; now open the folder of secondary files, and you will find the images. No right click needed. In this thread, someone posted some rewrite rules to prevent bandwidth theft (external sites linking to your images on your site). To prevent image theft, use thumbnails and watermarks. I believe that there is a Gallery module in the Contributions area. The Gallery software supports both watermarking and thumbnail creation. You can also do this with PhotoShop or The GIMP. I see that Matti snuck in while I was writing my post...you don't necessarily have to use image management (although it always helps). Just make sure that the images you display aren't the images for sale. Hth, Matt
