I am sorry to have to ask this question because I know it has been asked before, but i could not find it so here goes.

 

Is it possible in the New Products For December (or which ever month it happens to be) to limit the nuber of products that come up, or disable it all together?

 

On one of my pages I have 12 subcategories plus the "new product for" which has 9 items in it makes for a very substantial number of graphics file to be loaded. I personaly have not had trouble because I am on broadband but I have had complaints that this page will not load for some customers. i also have tried it from my real job, we are running on a T3 line and it will load about 8 of the sub categories and that is it. Anyhelp on getting rid of this box and or dropping the number of items would be greatly appreciated!

I may be asking for alot with this question but hey never hurts to ask!

 

I am wondering if it could be eliminated when I click on the products that have sub categories. But not eliminated if someone was to click on the catalog link taking the to the top level where it would be nice to have the "new products for" box.

 

Again I know this is probably stetching my luck but as I said it never hurts to ask.

As for how many items to show in the new products area, go to Admin/configuration/maximum values/ new products module. Change the number to whatever you would like.

As far as putting the new items up for just the products page (Not categories) you'll want to change around your index.php.

Try this index.php and see if it's doing what you want. If it is, just look at the code and change your if it's been customized.
