Avium Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Hi guys, I'm looking for a contribution to integrate the payment service Ikobo.com with OSC. However, there doesn't seem to be any such contributions. If anyone has tried to make this contribution, or can suggest a way for a greenhorn to code one up, I'd be very much obliged! Thanks in advance for any help or advice on this ;)
charlieworks Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 I am also looking for a contribution for Ikobo.com, it is the best merchant account in the world. Or how can i accpet payments with it even if there isnt a modual?

charlieworks Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 they are actually merchant and gateway. Its like paypal, but customers dont have to have an account. I just need to get a way to accept these, some how some way.
Guest Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I looked at Ikobo and do like what I see. It's cool to be issued a card to quickly withdraw your money from any ATM at your convenience. The problem is that they do not simply set up a virtual merchant account for you. In my opinion they are not a merchant account because their system isn't designed to allow you to send an order to simply let the customer pay. They have there own 'proprietary' shopping cart software that keeps track of all the items you wish to sell. You must fill each and every item that you wish to sell into the ikobo database, in advance, and they will give you a buy now icon for the customer to click on. They have no integration features that will allow your site to keep track of the order. They track it all. All you do is create your own web pages to put the "buy now" icons on that Ikobo provides. The only thing your site can do is receive the IPN order notification when they check out through their gateway. Basically these means you have twice as much work to do to try and integrate Ikobo with oscommerce. and two systems that won't talk to each other. The customer will quickly get confused with two icons to choose from either Ikobo's 'Buy now' or oscommerce add to cart. Basicly it just won't work with the info I have read. That was the bad news. Now Ikobo does have one redeeming feature. You can request payment from somebody. I would suggest adding a Ikobo payment module that simply says they will receive an email from IKobo requesting payment. Then you will have to manually log into Ikobo and make a payment request that will be sent via email. It would be nice if we could get oscommerce to be able to log into IKobo and send the payment request. Now that would be cool. Anybody know how to create a Module that can enter data and maneuver through web pages? EDD
The_ancient Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I agree with the Above. they have No API but it is alot like Paypal, when paypla was just getting started (x.com days) I am sure they will expand their Features to Include an API Ask them, maybe they have and it is just not documented on the server. but a API would be required for any module to be written also, I dotn see how anyone said the fees are high?? they are lower than paypal... and alot of True Merchant account rates for ecom
The_ancient Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 at minmum that would have to change the way the single item Purchase is done so that all of the Item Variables can be Passed instead of just a item number if they did that then the orginal paypal module could be modfied to easly intergate with them
Guest Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I wrote a Payment Module for iKobo.com It has some pretty nice integrated banners that should help drive customers to send you payments via iKobo. I used a banner 120x70 and these words in the payment option MODULE_PAYMENT_IKOBO_TEXT_TITLE iKobo handles payments from over 240 countries world wide!! Send payment with an iKobo account and you could WIN two free airline tickets to anywhere in the world! (Click Banner) I am willing to give anybody a copy that wants it for free. The condition I ask is that anybody that uses it leaves the http links untouched. (I request to get the referral bonuses if people sign up for iKobo.) The module give the customers instructions on how to send payment as well as encloses the payment instructions in the customers confirmation email just in case. This is currently the best options I have found for using iKobo as a payment processor. Thank you Demonstrations can be done at cbradiosale.com/catalog Select product called test. You may email me from the above site for copies. I will want to know the web site name you want to use the module on.
_doctor Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Hmm, sounds attractive :) By the way, I just got mail from iKobo support. They say, that third-party carts integration is already under testing and is to be ready in a matter of two weeks. Don't know whether they'll provide a modeule for OsCommerce or just an API to write your own. Eugene, this is not to undervalue your input, that's just one more option for those, who can wait. Personally I can't and will have a look at your solution :)
