OSCOMMERCE won't allow VISA Processing

Ok, forgive me if I sound a little upset, I am. My credit card processor just told me that all my work has been in vain because oscommerce is not software that is accepted under the account information security of Visa.

Does anyone know, how to get around this??

Has anyone had to deal with this?

If this is the truth, then how can anyone that processes credit cards in-house(ie. No third party processing page) use Oscommerce, and still accept Visa?

Please I WOULD LOVE to hear how I can get around this without lying.

If you need more information, or don't understand what I am saying, please message and I can give you the details.

sounds like you need to get a different merchant account. eprocessingnetwork, along with just about all the others accept payment through anyones program, as long as they conform to the standards out there. it is possible that your direct merchant does not have a gateway and thus they are pushing the blame off others. i have many customers who use oscommerce and their credit card transactions go through fine, it is all what they have signed up for with their particular merchant.

bottom line, if they wont accept it through an SSL connection to them, it is time to move on to another CC merchant.

I concur with Mibble. Run, dont walk, to the nearest dumpster and toss out your merchant bank.

I dont happen to use eprocessingnetwork, I use trustcommerce as a gateway, always been happy with them, and they search for good merchant banks for my mercahnt customers to meet their underwriting needs and this always includes a connection to Visa. If you or your merchants ( customers ) are going to take orders over the phone then you will also want a processor that gives you a virtual terminal so you can enter new transactions by hand or make adjustments after an osc sale, thats part of what a good gateway company provides. I mention this because the first merchant bank I talked to didnt have a gateway partner that had that feature. I had to go through lots of gateway and merchant bank companies to find the combination that meets my needs and it was worth the search. There's over 150 merchant banks in the US, somewhere you will find a merchant bank and gateway combo that works with Visa amd Mastercard and Discover and AmExpress, etc etc.

I'd recommend one item: search through the forums for gateways that people complain about API bugs. Then you know whom to avoid like the plague.
