MLu Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Might sound a little peculiar, but I need to deduct VAT from orders to non European union countries. I tried to key in a negative VAT-rate in admin, and this displayed well. However, there must be some kind of programmatic restriction that do not allow the VAT-amount to become negative, so that negative VAT-rates are considered to be zero. Not being af PHP-programmer, I would be very pleased if someone could point me to the code where this restriction is programmed, so that I can remove it. Thanks. Mogens
241 Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Why not just set up a new tax rate and zone for non EU countries? No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. Individual: [=] SME: [==] Corporation: [===] If deposit does not fit one of the slots provided then you are asking too much! Is your Osc dated try Phoenix raising oscommerce from the ashes.
MLu Posted December 18, 2003 Author Posted December 18, 2003 Because I am at the moment under the VAT minimum registration level, which means that I can sell exclusive of VAT. What I have done though, is that the present prices will also prevail when I have to register for VAT, but at that time I do not want to increase prices. Instead I will lower prices with the VAT rate and put VAT on, so that the price incl. VAT will match the earlier price "excl." VAT. Hope that makes sence? The only natural and logic way to do this would of course be to include VAT and then operate with a 0 VAT-rate outside EU. But thats exactly what I would like to avoid. I have another shop who charges VAT, and here the system works just fine. Mogens
