joeyjgarcia Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Ok, I've got everything all setup at home (intranet version) in preparation of setting up my internet version of my storefront. I am also using a versioning program (Visual Source Safe) as I change the storefront code in case I really screw something up. I want to customize my storefront "look and feel" graphics, layout, colors for the home page and the subsequent page templates. So, do I just carefully look in the each exisiting page template and start moving code around? Or is there an interface for customizing the storefront pages? I like some features that are not in the base version, so do I add these in myself? Features I'd like to add: 1) Multiple Pictures of my products 2) Cross selling products 3) An area at the bottom of "Recently Viewed Products" Since I am new to this, I appreciate any help offered.
Guest Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 There's no need in moving the code around and trying to create your own layout if you don't know what you are doing for sure. Here are some great contributions to the Cart made by other users that should help you accomplish what you are looking to do.... joeyjgarcia Posted December 17, 2003 Author Posted December 17, 2003 Yeah, I saw some of these. I admit I was a little nervous using some of these since many people qualified their contributions by saying "I'm not a programmer but ...". I guess I'll give them a try. This leads to my next question, how do you plug these in?
Guest Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 You just download them and follow the installation/readme files that most contributions come with. Generally, you have to replace a few files and some lines in the code. It's not very hard....I've installed 20 mods this week and I'm not a PHP programmer by any means. Trent
