what is the purpose of the breadcrumb class and where the application use it ?

breadcrumb is navigation history and its used throughout the entire site. i.e.

 

home -> product category -> product name

 

each are linked to go 'back' to where you were without pressing the back button.

 

check out http://www.specialdaygiftbaskets.com and you'll see it at the top. where it shows "home". When you click a link it should say "Home > Link you just clicked".
