WendyM
All was working fine yesterday, last night, a week ago......and now, oh my--oh my. www.its2cheap.com My site has been down most of today. No response from my host, which is supposed to be available 24-7, ugh. Now the site is up, kinda sorta. Up, but not doing well, I'm afraid. This is the error I get when visiting my site: Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/its2ch/public_html/osc/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! This is the error I get when trying to reach my admin area: Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/its2ch/public_html/osc/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! I am able to reach my site via FTP. I am able to check mail. I am able to login to Control Panel. When I try to login to MyPHP,(within Control Panel) it says username and password are incorrect. ==== I created a new user and new password, added the user to the database-thru CP-and still got same errors ==== Any ideas? Much thanks, and much more thanks, in advance. Wendy PS....put this in here, since I don't think this is an OSC problem, sorry if I posted in the wrong thread. WendyM
Please disregard above message. Seems the site has magically fixed itself. :o Wendy
Guest
your host was most likely aware of the problem, with sql being down, along with your site and i am sure numerous others, is why you couldnt reach them, they didnt want to fess up that they dont have enough systems to switch data to if a system fails!
