any tips

The images, left and right from the text in the boxheaders have a non matching color :-(

Your info box images, don't match with your colours.

You can edit these in any program, I prefer to use Adobe Photoshop.

Easy and quick job.

(P.S. Could you have a look at my site, about to go live too http://www.saversoft.co.uk ) :)

i'm having a few probs here actually viewing images but have done a little more work on the site. just adding a couple more things (still looking for the gift voucher contribution lol) but i "think i might be getting there slowly but surely.

When you say the info box images, can you tell me which ones exactly please? like i say having probs viewing images at the mo so if I knew exactly which ones it was I will be able to sort it out :D

thanks loads

All of them.

The edges and the curves on the boxes are the ones that don't match the colours.

the right bits to edit

Not the bits or bytes, but the images.

You'll find them in /catalog/images/infobox/*.gif

You also need to sort out your buttons, so they match the background where they are white.

You can find a PSD (photoshop file) for the buttons in the latest snapshot.

Well, the biggest question is, HOW "custom" do you want it to be?

If you want to do tons to it, and make it totally unique and "yours" then you need to do a lot more. If not, and you want something to "USE", then just a little bit more and you are ready to roll.

Few Tips.

IF you are only going to use English as your language, then I would get rid of that Box altogether. Changing the corners in the Infoboxes, the little rounded edges?, is what they are referring to. The grey corners. also need to be edited to either match, to keep the rounded corners, or taken out.

All of that is shown exactly how to be done in the Wikki

Outside of that, there are several other things you CAN do, if you wish.

Taking out the category count, and darkening just a bit the infobox backgrounds is a good step. The colors seem to almost float out because of the darkness of the surrounding purple versus the pale, pale pink. Matches very little :(

If you want to keep the Information infobox, movin it to the right.php would be a better balance.

The buttons, like others have said, would definately be a good choice to work on. The colors arent too far off with the header blue for the stock OSC buttons, but I think you may be happier with just replacing them with something more akin to something you would like. Check the contributions area, or make some from your own design. Work intensive, but definately worth it if you love the end result.

Your product images are a little difficult to see in that color setting as well, though they show a bit better when you enlarge. Maybe a different back color? That teal is a little distracting :<

Getting rid of those stock OSC Header icons as well. Maybe either replace them with something of your own, or getting rid of them altogether? Your choice, though I have yet to see a site they look good on ;/

I THINK thats all for right now, but it definately gives you some things to think about.

Good Luck, and if you need help with anything you DO decide to do, just ask, and someone will be glad to help you out!

One of these days, I will actually understand what I just changed...

But reading the Manual DEFINATELY helps...

Thanks for the tips guys, to be honest with you, I'm pretty happy with the colours as they are, I think the lighter blueish colour contrasts well with the rest of the site colours.

the background is the colour it is to match the rest of my actual website so i'm not actually going to change them as it would create way too much work changing the rest of the site too.

Feedback from prospective customers as well has been pretty good, they generally like the layout and design so I guess I have to go with what my customer likes too.

thanks loads tho

Maybe I should have been a little clearer on what sort of feedback I was looking for, it was more is everything working kind of feedback rather than what colour the site is and if it's not working what error message is it.

basically if you go to the main page of the site and click on the link to the online shop you'll see that the actual url has changed.

it can now be found HERE

it's been up and running for a few weeks now, with a gift certificate add on and everything running smoothly.

maybe a little looking around would have helped!

Everything seems to work fine. But...the colors are horrid, the infobox colors are still grey on the corners and product pictures are terrible.

The Wiki Docs: Read them, live them and be thankful for them!
