See this FAQ help page: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/faq,1-7/q,17 The related offending file is in catalog/includes/classes/snoopy1.class.php . It appears to have been saved in rich text format, causing problems in unix. You'll need to delete all the ascii 10's and then save the file as a unix file before uploading.
