markchiu Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Hi, guys, how are you doing?? I am very new to php thing....it is the very first time to use oscommerce and first time to make a shop.... sometimes I am amazed that how some other people can modify a site from the very first index page(oscommerce)......to a totally new and can't figure out "Oh, they use OS commerce???" Gee, how did some of you do it? I mean, it is totally different...what editor do you use..and your php has to be very good right??....I use dreamweaver...but then you can only change it by writing the code......because when you see on DM is like many many tables stuck on each other.....you can't write or change directly.............please if you could give some tips on how to make a better website!!! Thank you soooo much. :D and again......i am very excited to open a shop....... :P  Nice talking to ya :) OS-commerce is great, but with other magical contributions, that is just so "COOL"!
Guest Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 if you install apache and php on your local system and then put osCommerce in your localhost folder, you will be able to see the actual pages, etc, and dreamweaver you can look at both code and page view.
markchiu Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 uh.......that's weird ...I have tried some times now....i have apache and php..... could you please tell me the steps on how to do that??? ok what i did every time is directly open the php page on the DM, then every time it shows me the "Tables" only.....and then I have to write the code only....... I am really confused on these things.... OS-commerce is great, but with other magical contributions, that is just so "COOL"!
