Guest
I haven't even installed oscommerce yet, but before I do, I thought I should know what I'm in for. I already have a pretty large database of products. Each record has all the data I would think it would need. Most items are bulk, and have up to 6 price/quantity pairs. The product graphics are on a different server, and only the unique part of the url is stored, like dirname/filename. Each record also has other info I'd like displayed, manufactuer, summary, description, min production time etc... Is it possible to adapt OSC to grab product info from a different database? (of course it is).. but how long might it take a so-so perl/php programmer to do it?
Guest
you would probably do better to export the products to the OSC sql table. Then you dont have to worry about screwing something up. would take longer to do what you are talking of, taking into consideration your last sentence.
