Catagory list drop down?

I did some searching for this topic and didn't find too much about it, at least not a solution.

 

1. How can I make the catagory list a drop down box? I will eventually have a few more catagories that will make the left pane seem cluttered.

hmm.I saw some contributions like Category drop-downbox that displays the list of categories in a dropdown box. Have a look in the Infoboxes contributions module if you have not done it already000.
