dbenfell Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Hi I am based in New Zealand and starting up an online business but initially looking for a cheaper way to accept online payments than hefty merchant startup fees and minimum monthly charges. I have seen paypal can be used for accepting online payments. I have however a few questions. Can I trade in $NZD with Paypal. I am not quite sure how it works. i.e., does the customer require a paypal account or is that irrelevant when accepting credit cards for payment (i.e., is it seamless to them). Has anyone had good experiences/bad experiences with it? is it a secure form of receiving payments? Do I need to set up each product I sell on the paypal web site? What alternatives may there be for me in New Zealand? Some advice would be appreciated. Rgds David
dchockenberry Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 go to PayPal and find out what they can do for you. as with anything, experiences will be good or bad. yes they are secure or it wouldn't be around as such a huge corporation. the purchaser has to set up a paypal account to pay but all they need is a credit card or bank account and an email address.
Avium Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 At the moment, Paypal only accepts transactions in Japanese yen, British pound, US dollar, Canadian dollar and the new Euro currency. You may find more info here: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p...c_intro-outside
