oscommerce install

When trying to install oscommerce ie:

 

http:\\www.servername.ca/catalog

 

on the new installation database import screen the following msg appears:

 

A test connection made to the database was not successful

access denied for user: 'usernam@severname' (using password: yes)

[Guest]

You must first create an empty database before running the installation script - then enter the correct details.
