Awful colours. You need new buttons.

What about disabled access to your site ? You think someone with impaired vision will be able to use this site ?

Yes...yes I do.

Besides, I think the colors are great for the site, and I am not planning on changing them....im tired of boring white on every site I go to. Any other comments/suggestions?

Hi Bobbot,

little confusing:

Top ? Catalog

both lead to the same page.

And the middle content is to wide on my screen but that's normal with a liquid design as standard osC uses I suppose. Using 1400 pixel wide screen so most costumers wont have this problem I suppose.

And I fully agree with Burt on the buttons, you certainly need others! There are some nice contributions for it (at least there is one)!

Although I think Black and Blue are good colors, I don't think they work on a website. Just My opinion.

I know white is boring, but boring works, and when it comes to marketing products, you have to cater to the customer's needs, and not what we like. Yahoo, Ebay, Wal-Mart, OverStock.com, Google, all these sites have something in common.. Clean Crispy design, white background, and lot of traffic.

Thank for the suggestions! I will check on the header, I don't see the problem with the buttons though, is it the color?

To me the blue button and "the other" blue don't seem to match very well (but i am not a designer).

About the black and blue design: I think it looks nice, but it does hurt my eyes.

Same here. Toook awhile for my eyes to adjust before I was able to read the white text in the descriptions.

You could keep the header black, and change the rest of the background to something else maybe?

I didn't think it was possible to make phpBB look that bad. If you have to use that color scheme, at least design buttons that work with it. The standard ones you are using are antialiased to a white background and look like crap.

I'm a little sick of white backgrounds too but dark blue and black with white text looks bad and will cause problems.

The images are resized but not proportionately so they look odd. If you set just the height or width in admin and blank the other setting, your images will be resized proportionately. Of course they will look even better if you do it manually with photoshop or something similar.

Hmm...I wasn't expecting my color scheme to be such an eye soar....

Without changing the whole color scheme, maybe if I change the text it won't hurt your eyes. Light Gray, maybe? What do you think?

Also, im still working on the forum board, but that comes last priority...

Possibly increasing the fontsize would make it easier to read. It IS very difficult to read as it is now, and my eyes get picky on me at times so that makes it worse. It is the same setup almost as like one of the Windows High Contrast, though for the website, it is a little more difficult to navigate with. Also possibly instead of a pitch black BG, make it like a grey, with black lettering? That way you can keep the "Mystical, Magical" look with the darker colorset, and still be more user friendly.

As far as the buttons, they do not match the blue of the site. They are a little Boring as well. There ARE some very good button contribs in the images section, and look very clean, as well as being a very quick upload for them.

Possibly cleaning up the images for the Infoboxes would help some with the appearance a well. Though I DO like those :)

One of these days, I will actually understand what I just changed...

But reading the Manual DEFINATELY helps...

Some browsers will print the page without the background colors while leaving the text color alone. That means they will receive white text on a white background from your site. That is more than enough to piss off customers and drive them to another site.

White text (#FFFFFF) tends to "glow" against a dark background. Less intense would have less of a glow but would still be hard to see.

Aside from phpBB, you are using the standard osc buttons whose lighter shade of blue does not match your clor scheme at all. Besides that the standard osc buttons look horrible in and of themselves. That is what people are referring to by bad looking buttons.

Your color scheme, although apparently aesthetically pleasing to you, is not so to the folks who have reviewed your site. Consider them a sampling of those who will visit your site. If customers don't like the look, they won't stay. You have to decide what your goal is: a site you find appealing or a site that generates income.

The only thing you have in your right column is the shopping cart is empty box. That create a lot of empty wasted space. Get rid of the right column (move shopping cart info somewhere else) and you will have more room for the product info.

Category images don't show up.

A number of categories are empty. Remove the category until it is used.

The number after the category name looks cheesy. I'd remove them.

No one will care when a product was added to the database.

In your bottom links, people may expect Help to be at the far right where it traditionally is located.

Your search icon in the search infobox heading has a number of stray pixels around it. That needs to be cleaned up. The other search icon, the standard osc one, has a white background that. Edit it and make it transparent.

Under card tricks, one is repeatedly referred to as "tree" card monty. Typo?

In your logo, the right corner of he hat is cut off and looks odd.

There is an unneccessary amount of dead space in your header. Tighten that up (up and down)

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll get cracking soon.

One question though, www.wizardsandwars.com pretty much has the same color scheme as me, yet a lot seem to like that syle. What exactly makes that, well, less of an eye soar?

Not sure where you got the impression that many people like that site. I have seen more derogatory comments about it than positive ones. A couple of things to note about that site though: the majority of the text is not white; it is off white, and they have done a great deal of work developing graphics, buttons, etc that go with the theme. Regardless of these things, I personally do not like www.wizardsandwars.com. It looks unprofessional and has a made-at-home quality at least partially due to the color scheme.

How is it now?

I really don't know what to do with the buttons, go take a look at them now, tell me what you think....

Im gonna add special offer banners there.

Category images don't show up.?

Trying to fix it...

Huh?

Under card tricks, one is repeatedly referred to as "tree" card monty. Typo?

That's not a typo, it's the name of the trick...

You also need to sort out your product images. I personally use sm, med, lg images contribution on my website http://www.saversoft.co.uk

Your images don't look clear, and are squashed to fit.

I suggest you install that Mod and have several images per product. I just have 2 images per product. Looks much better.

Let me know what you think.
