khabagir Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Hi, My site is hosted on Yahoo and there is no info about the absolute path. So when i try to access the www.mysite.com/catalog/admin, therte apears nothing. Can someone let me know how to fix this problem? Thanks
dchockenberry Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 instead of using your domain name to access admin, type in the original geocities address. ie. if it was: www.geocities.com/yourname use: www.geocities.com/yourname/admin
khabagir Posted December 9, 2003 Author Posted December 9, 2003 Thanks dchockenberry. But my client's site is on the virtual hosting (paid plan). Should i put www.mysite.com/catalog/admin for absolute path?
dchockenberry Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 you would have had to register a domain name to get the www.mydomain.com use whatever the domain is that yahoo provides you with. for example, my site address is www.mydomain.com but the default address that I would use before I registered my domain was www.myregistrationname.myhost.com
khabagir Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 Thanks Don. My client has already registered the domain name with .com and it's hosted with yahoo.com paid hosting package not on the free hosting (geocities.com). Also at the time of installation the absolute path is automatically displays but not at yahoo server. that's why i'm getting problem. I tried to use a php script to check the server environment but it did'nt help. So is there any solution to avoid absolute path in the configure.php and it can work with www.mysite.com/catalog/admin? need the work done as soon as possible so i would be greatful if someone help me out to fix this error. Thanks
dchockenberry Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 find out what the host name is. it's probably something to the effect of yourloginname.yahoo.com or something. that's the name you need to use.
khabagir Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 Thanks Don. Really appreciate your time. I did so but it it did'nt work. Any idea?
khabagir Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 I've also come to know that .htaccess is not supported at Yahoo. Can this be the reason of this problem? But i can access my shop front "catalog". Anyone please.....
dchockenberry Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 sorry but I don't know much of anything beyond that. I never had any issues with .htaccess so I have no idea what it's even about. Sorry I can't help you further. Good luck.
