new install - hosted site

I am getting this problem

Unable to connect to database server!

 

I have been told to use localhost as the db server

its installed on

http://www.webcity.net.au/blokeystuf/blokey/catalog/

and the db name is blokeystuf

password is celeste1

username is blokeystuf

Its just starting so I don't mind who knows this and it'll be protected when its closer.

I installed on my linux box no problems

Can someone more intelligent than me tell me what gives?

Take a look in cPanel - you will probably find that your database and usernames have a prefix.

As johnson said, they might have a prefix. For example, your username might be webcity_blokeystuf and your db might be webcity_blokeystuf. Hope this helps.
