mimages Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I need to limit the quantity on certain products to 1. I need a checkbox or field to indicate how many of a given product I have in stock, so the customer can't try and by more than I have (like, a max_quantity field). Is this available, or simple, or is their a contribution? I tried searching under fixed quantity and set quantity, but not luck. Thanks. J
Daemonj Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 If you have the proper quantity for the product entered in the product record and in Admin ~ Configuration ~ Stock you have the proper settings (e.g. Allow Checkout set to False), then osC already will not allow someone to order more than what is available. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - A. Einstein
ghiggi Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 In your Admin section goto Configuration/Stock and you'll see the settings I think you're looking for. Check Stock Level - Will check to see if sufficent stock is available Subtract Stock - Subtract product in stock by product orders Allow checkout - Allow customer to checkout even if there is insufficient stock Mark product out of stock - Display something on screen so customer can see which product has insufficient stock When you input your products, set the quantity to 1. If you set Allow checkout to false, when someone tries to buy more than you have in stock they get a message advising them to change the quantity and they are not allowed to continue the checkout process. To display the current quantity of a product in the catagories product list, in your Admin section goto Configuration/Product Listing and set Display Product Quantity to which ever precedent number you wish. Hope this helps, ghiggi

Hope this helps, ghiggi <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But can it display the quantity remaining on individual items ? not from the category listing. If someone selects an item from an image preesented to them eg specials, I would like them to see how many are left Geoff Geoff Telegraph Point 2441 Australia

If someone selects an item from an image preesented to them eg specials, I would like them to see how many are left Geoff <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This product was added to our catalog on Saturday 16 October, 2004. and there are currently XX in stock It would be nice to add that statement at the bottom of the product listing. How would I do that ? thanks again Geoff Geoff Telegraph Point 2441 Australia
