Databuilder
A site that was working fine, now doesn't display the product images. Hosting company had (and still has) problems, but all they said is "you need to reload the images." The images are on the server, and if I edit the products through the admin panel it shows the correct location. Instead of doing this manually, is there something I can do to get the images to display? Thanks
Daemonj
It may be that the image files themselves have become corrupted (similar to when a .jpeg is uploaded in ascii mode instead of binary). Even though the file is there does not mean that it is valid. Try downloading a few of the files and see if they will open in an image editor or in IE. If they do, then you know they are good and the problem is somewhere else (perhaps permissions). If they do not open, then you will more than likely need to do as your host suggested and re-upload your image files. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. Databuilder
Thanks for the reply. Since this was a small store, I loaded the images. I couldn't check the permissions as one of the problems was not being able to SSH in. Before reloading the images, I verified the images were still in the database and uploaded a few to make sure they were not corrupted. Had this been a very large store, this could have taken hours. It would be nice to know what happened and if anything other than creating an entry in the db goes on when loading the images. Thanks again, Jason
Daemonj
That is about it - the image is uploaded and an entry is made in the db. I generally just make the entry and then use ftp to upload the images all at once. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds.
