Guest Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 My osCommerce site has been up and running for two or three months now. Today when I checked my log files for the site, I was astounded to see that the site is over 800 megs! I only have about 800 products, and I only get a few orders a day. The major bulk of the size seems to be in the /usr/mysql/var directory. Any ideas as to the problem and how I can correct it? Daily log files indicate that my site is growing by about 15 megs a day! Any help is appreciated, Bob
Pharkie Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 I think OSC eats up log files quite quickly due to how image-heavy and script-driven it is. Mine certainly uses up a fair bit of bandwidth! It's a server-admin issue really, not an OSC one. You need to rotate your logs, or ask your server provider to do so. 15mb/day is quite reasonable to expect for webserver log files. If it's your mySQL logfiles, then again OSC makes a lot of queries, so rotate the logs. Hope this helps.
