How can I remove Manufacturer's box and What's New

:huh: I have a very small shopping cart with just a few products. All

of the products are created in-house, so there is only one manufacturer.

 

How can I remove that box that list manufacturer's? I can delete all

the manufacturer's, by the box still displays on the front page.

 

How can I remove the box below it that list's What's New?

 

Any response any one can give me will be greatly appreciated.

go in to catalog/includes/

you will see a few files the ones you want are colum_left.php and right.php comment out the call to the box.

I appreciate the response and file manager seems like the solution.

But if I go to Tools/File Manager I get:

 

Warning: dir(/home/lawfirms/public_html) [function.dir]: failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/lawfirms/public_html/commerce/admin/file_manager.php on line 187

 

 

I try ssh in and typing:

 

touch file_manager.php

chmod 706 file_manager.php

 

But that doesn't do the trick. How can I change the permission so that file

manager is enabled?

Just Ftp it to your local pc. Adjust the files and upload again.
